South Bay SolarCraft - Solar Powered - All Electric Pontoon Boat
SolarCraft by Forest River Marine is an innovative way to enjoy the boating experience. Simply put it's a clean, highly maneuverable and stable, waterborne recreational platform. The SolarCraft 18 is propelled by renewable energy from the sun. No more worries about gas cans, fumes, trips to the marina, and ongoing engine maintenance. The SolarCraft 18 is powered by twin Lenco electric power plants that work in unison to the commands of a joystick control. It's even available with an optional remote control. The battery charging system can be charged from an AC 110 power source in conjunction and support of the twin arch
mounted solar panels.
Interior design like no other. No fiberglass helm or steering wheel like a typical pontoon boat, instead you get a centrally located Captains chair complete with integral "Joystick" control mounted into the right side armrest. Flanked on both sides by lounge seating and a handy table mounted where it should be. The Joystick control is extremely intuitive and makes it very easy to manuever the boat. Push it forward to go, pull it back for reverse and left or right to steer your course. There is even a cruise control button that will lock in your speed and course if you like.
