Painted or galvanized pontoon boat trailers?

Painted or galvanized pontoon trailers usually comes down to a matter of trailer price, appearance, or performance.

Painted pontoon boat trailers are usually a little less expensive than galvanized pontoon boat trailers this is because the painted steel trailer is less expensive for the manufacturer to produce than the galvanized trailer. Some people prefer the many color choices and or graphics of a painted boat trailer over the dull gray appearance of a galvanized pontoon boat trailer.

Galvanized pontoon boat trailers on the other hand are usually more expensive and all look pretty much the same. The galvanizing process used by the manufacturers makes these trailers more expensive to produce but results in a better protection against rust and corrosion and they usually last longer that the steel painted trailers. While both types of pontoon trailer will work just fine from a towing perspective, if your boat trailer is used or stored in a saltwater or very damp environment than a galvanized pontoon boat trailer may be a better choice than a painted pontoon boat trailer for your particular use.
